Assist residents in an Assisted Living Community with making physician appointments and provide transportation to Day Program or Workshop settings, as well as doctor and/or dentist appointments, etc.
Follow all regulations as required by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, North Carolina Department of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Substance Abuse Services and any other State or Federal Agencies as applicable
Understand and follow all regulations as required by Federal HIPPA Laws
Assist residents with making appointments and provide transportation to scheduled appointments, outings, etc.
Work closely with ED/Administrator/SIC/RCC. Notify him/her when there is a need for medical attention regarding a consumer or when there is a change in the consumer's health status. Relay information back to her from physicians.
Assist office manager when work is caught up.
File documents as needed.
Assure cleanliness of vehicles.
Assure vehicle inspections are renewed annually. Insure regular scheduled oil change of all vehicles.
Keep emergency fact sheets in all vehicles up to date.
Help in assuring that charts, ER files and all medical notebooks are kept up to date.
Provide transportation for pickups from hospital stays and to the hospital.
Chart in care notes when finished transporting to appointments.
Relay information to contact person after physician visits.
File in medical charts.
Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each consumer.
Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to consumers and families.
Report any accident or incident to the ED/Administrator or SIC.
Be familiar with and able to apply all the home's accident, fire safety and emergency procedures.
