  • Overview

    Responsible for providing support and quality assurance to the QI Coordinator in multiple communities.  The QA Assistant will assist in all areas of quality assurance as directed by the QI Coordinator, and will also assist in maintaining and increasing performance and/or compliance in the regional area; travel up to 80% of the time to the Easter Part of North Carolina (Edenton, NC; Kinston, NC; Lumberton, NC; Pink Hill, NC; Red Springs, NC; Williamston, NC).

    Responsibilities

    1. Respond to Corporate Office requests as directed by QI Coordinator to insure continued community compliance with Corporate Office expectations and requests.
    2. Conduct routine inspections of all administrative requirements, resident services, employee files, activity program and physical plant provided at the community to ensure compliance with community, Corporate Office and regulatory standards.
    3. Plan, develop and implement Corporate Office Programs to meet the home's overall goals and objectives in accordance with established policies and procedures, addressing all regulatory, service and operations areas.
    4. In absence of QI Coordinator, provide direction, guidance and supervision to staff as necessary and appropriate.
    5. Respond appropriately and timely to any visits by DFS/DSS.
    6. Involve community supervisory staff in the planning process when significant regulatory and executive changes dictate changes in operations.
    7. Direct community staff regarding company policies and procedures.
    8. Recommend policy and procedure changes where appropriate to improve operations based upon observation, evaluation, feedback and status of community operations.
    9. Assist general company and regulatory long and short-term goals for quality improvement for staff and assist with specific goals that the home needs to accomplish.
    10. Maintain a communications process for the regular distribution of company information and for sharing critical or enlightening information with managers.
    11. Attend community committee meetings for guidance and compliance at the community level.
    12. Attend and complete training as deemed necessary and directed by the RD.
    13. Support family/resident functions.
    14. Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
    15. Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity and physical safety of each resident.
    16. Be familiar with and able to apply all the home's accident, fire safety, OSHA and emergency procedures.
    17. Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents with exercising these rights.
    18. Assure careful treatment of Adult Care Home equipment and utilization of supplies.
    19. Be responsible for reading and adhering to all Adult Care Home and employee policies.
    20. Participate in job-related continuing education as required by ED/Administrator.

    Qualifications

    1. Must be 24 years old as required by auto company's liability insurance carrier
    2. Must have a High School Diploma or GED
    3. Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions
    4. Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
    5. Must have clear SBI and DMV record and maintain them during period of employment
    6. Must have good written and verbal communication skills
    7. Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other employees, and vendors
    8. Must possess good computer skills
    9. Must have a two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test)
